Before she could fully react, two men grabbed her from either side, trying to throw her off balance. A third man appeared, reaching over her shoulder, trying to intercept the transaction. He attempted to withdraw 200 euros from her account, thinking he was clever, thinking he had chosen someone frail, someone easy.
Winifred, however, was no ordinary pensioner. Years of life experience had taught her a thing or two about standing her ground. Instantly, she twisted, dropped her handbag, and began shouting with a force that could have startled anyone. “Get off me! Who do you think you are?” Her voice was commanding, fierce, and carried the weight of decades of determination. The would-be robbers hesitated. This was not the meek elderly woman they had assumed she was.
