At first sight, these swellings may appear harmless or even confusing. They often resemble thickened sideburns or deep bumps beneath the skin along the jawline, cheeks, or close to the ears. Some people mistake them for enlarged facial features, allergic reactions, or ordinary pimples. However, these painful lumps are not part of normal facial anatomy, nor are they typical breakouts.
