Instead, he heard a soft cry. Hidden behind a cleaning cart was a small baby wrapped in a pink blanket, with a note asking for someone to give her a safe and loving home. Trained to stay calm in emergencies, Ethan gently lifted the infant and contacted the proper authorities.
As he waited for help to arrive, the baby’s tiny hand curled around his shirt, and in that silent moment, something changed inside him. He had recently grieved the loss of a child he believed never survived birth, and now, unexpectedly, he was holding new life in his arms.
