For years, hosting Christmas felt less like a choice and more like an expectation. My home was the largest, so it automatically became the gathering place. Every December, I rearranged furniture, planned menus, shopped, cooked, and cleaned—mostly on my own. I told myself it was worth it to bring everyone together, even though I ended each holiday exhausted, stretched thin financially, and emotionally drained.
