Hero who confronted one of the Bondi Beach gunmen is granted permanent residency in Australia

Despite the trauma of the moment, Inspector Scott immediately attempted to revive him, performing CPR until paramedics arrived. He later died from his injuries.

In the wake of her cancer diagnosis, NSW Police Legacy has established a fundraiser to support Inspector Scott and her family as they navigate treatment and recovery.

“Amy is not only a dedicated police officer but a devoted wife and a loving mother to two young boys,” the fundraiser said. “She is fiercely independent, endlessly supportive of others, and exactly the person you would expect a hero to be.”

While surrounded by strong support from family, colleagues and friends, the statement acknowledged the difficult road ahead and the financial strain that often accompanies serious illness. The fundraiser aims to ease that burden during what has been described as an incredibly challenging time.
