When I told them I would not abandon my child, they insisted I either change my mind or leave their home. I tried to explain that their decision would affect more than just me, but they refused to listen. I moved far away, found small jobs, and learned how to stretch every dollar. Some nights I cried from exhaustion, but every morning I woke up with new purpose. When my son Leo was born, he filled the lonely spaces with laughter and warmth.
