A year later, I believed I was happy. I was pregnant, glowing with anticipation. But one afternoon, I came home from a checkup and found a note taped to my door: “Run. Even you don’t deserve it.” At first, I thought it was either a sick joke or some kind of threat. That evening, however, my Facebook Messenger lit up with a flood of photos from a fake account. I didn’t care who sent them—the images spoke for themselves.There he was, my partner, holding hands with another pregnant woman. The pictures were recent—he wore the same clothes we had just bought together, his haircut was fresh, exactly as I knew it. And there were many photos, taken from odd angles, as if someone had been following them.

Then came the message: “I thought you took my whole life when you stole my husband. Turns out you just took the trash out of my house. You need to know who he is. Don’t end up like me. Take everything you can and leave. He won’t change.”
