I laughed weakly, tears slipping free. “I followed my husband in an Uber because I thought he was cheating.”
She burst out laughing. “That’s… actually kind of iconic.”
“I’m sorry,” he said. “I wanted to do this right.”
“I know,” I said. And I meant it.
