Madison’s perfectly maintained smile faltered slightly. How kind, I murmured, touched by the unexpected connection.

Morrison glanced between us, then made a decision. “Ladies, I’d be honored if you join me in our private viewing room.
We’ve just received a remarkable collection. I believe you’ll appreciate it, Mrs. Cooper.”
Before I could respond, he gestured to an assistant who appeared with practiced efficiency.
“Rebecca, please prepare the Sapphire Room and bring refreshments for Mrs. Cooper and her guest.”
“The Sapphire Room,” Madison interjected, her voice rising slightly. “Isn’t that usually reserved for our most distinguished clients?”
“Right this way, please.”
