Tears rushed down her face. “I’m pregnant.”
His heart exploded with relief—until she added, “It’s not yours.”
“How long?” he finally managed.
Megan hesitated. “A year.”
A year. While Ryan was praying for a child, saving money for fertility tests, Megan was sleeping with his brother.
He walked out, barely breathing. His mother called that night, urging him to “think about the baby” and “be mature.” Jason apologized weakly. Megan begged for forgiveness. Ryan filed for divorce.
Months later, the family group chat announced the worst message he had ever seen:
Jason and Megan are getting married next month! We hope everyone will join us to celebrate this beautiful blessing!
Ryan swore he wouldn’t go.
But on the morning of the wedding, he found himself buttoning his suit, hands shaking, unsure whether he wanted closure… or punishment.
But the true shock came later, at the reception.
Jason’s ex-wife, Hannah Reed, stood up, her voice shaking but clear.
“Most of you know we struggled to have a baby. What you don’t know,” she said, staring at Jason, “is that the infertility wasn’t mine.”
