In 2022, during her appearance on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen, the actress surprised the audience by revealing the identity of her worst on-screen kissing partner. And to everyone’s surprise, it was none other than Burt Reynolds — her real-life partner at the time, whom she met on the set of Smokey and the Bandit.
Though they had a romantic relationship for five years, she didn’t have fond memories of their romantic scenes. “There was just way too much saliva,” she said with humor, adding that he simply “wasn’t good” at that kind of scene.
The actor, who passed away in 2018, later expressed regret about their relationship. However, she revealed she had no contact with him during the last thirty years of his life. Candidly, she admitted: “He was just not someone who was good for me in any way.”
