The confession did not bring closure. Closure belongs to stories with endings, not lives torn open by violence. What it brought was something harder and more honest: the beginning of reckoning.
In the days that followed, Elena remained out of public view. Friends said she was resting. Others said she was praying. Some said she was simply sitting with her children, explaining in careful, age-appropriate words why the world felt different now.
