Why were no bodies found in the wreck of the Titanic?

When the wreck was discovered in 1985, researchers expected to see everything anew: objects, structures, but also more direct evidence of the passengers’ presence. Instead, they found a veritable time capsule composed of intact crockery, collapsed furniture, shoes, and suitcases, resting in almost solemn silence. However, no human remains were found.

Even James Cameron, during numerous dives in preparation for the film, confirmed that he never saw anything but scattered clothes and accessories.

So why are these objects still here and the rest aren’t?
