When the wreck was discovered in 1985, researchers expected to see everything anew: objects, structures, but also more direct evidence of the passengers’ presence. Instead, they found a veritable time capsule composed of intact crockery, collapsed furniture, shoes, and suitcases, resting in almost solemn silence. However, no human remains were found.
